Friday Practice - Philip Island
At the end of the first day, Team Guandalini are sitting at the top of qualifying sheets with Jakub Smrz who set a time of 1.32.312 just in front of Noriuki Haga in a 1.32.569. Smrz has found a good race set up and was consistently putting in fast lap times throughout the qualifying session.
Brendan Roberts continued working hard to find a good base setting on the Ducati 1098 and continued to improve over the first practice session and into the first qualifying sessions. The young Australian completed the first days session with a best time of 1.35.123 in 23rd position but only 2.8 seconds off his team-mate Smrz who is sitting on professional pole position.
